Staying in Thailand longer than 90 days? Submit your 90-day report!
If you're staying in Thailand for longer than 90 days, you'll need to report your current address to Immigration. This is mandatory, and not doing so will result in a 2000bhat fine when you're trying to leave Thailand.
While it's mandatory, it's not made very clear that you'll need to do this, or even which documents to bring.
Where to submit your 90 day report (TM47)
- At the immigration office
- Online
While the report can be done online, for the first time, you'll need to do it in person.
If you are in Bangkok, this can be done at Immigration Division 1 - 120 ซอย แจ้งวัฒนะ 7 อาคาร รัฐประศาสนภักดี B 120 Chang Watthana 7 Alley, Thung Song Hong, Lak Si, Bangkok 10210.
The easiest way to get there is by taking a taxi or Grab. Alternatively, you can take the SRT to Lak Si, and take a shorter taxi ride from there.
Documents to bring
- Your valid passport
- A filled in TM47 form, you can either download this online, or get one at the information desk inside the Immigration building
- A filled in TM30 form. The TM30 is a form your landlord or hotel needs to fill in, although you may need to specifically request this. Don't make the mistake of showing up at Immigration without it, they'll just send you back home.
- In some cases the officer may also ask for a copy of your lease, so it's best to bring this one too.
- You'll also want a copy of your passport and entry stamp.
A few tips for submitting the TM47 in Bangkok
The Bangkok Immigration department is by far the busiest, so here are a few tips to help you with the process
- Go as early as possible, you may even want to queue up before the building even opens. If you go in the afternoon, be prepared to wait for almost 3-4 hours.
- Alternatively, go as late as possible, the ticket office closes at 15:30, and generally by 17:00 the last person will have left the room.
- Make sure to double check all your forms and fill them in correctly. While an officer will check your documents up front, you don't want to be send away or lose your turn.
