3. Income: You must have a minimum income of €2,000 per month.
4. Health Insurance: You must have valid international health insurance.

6. Accommodation: You must have proof of accommodation in Hungary.

Application process

The application process for the Hungary Digital Nomad Visa, or the White Card, is as follows:

1. Gather the Necessary Documents: You need to prepare the required documents such as a valid passport, proof of remote work, proof of income, proof of health insurance, and proof of accommodation.
2. Complete the Application Form: Fill in the application form for the Hungary Digital Nomad Visa.
3. Schedule an Appointment: Set an appointment at the nearest Hungarian embassy or consulate.
4. Attend the Interview: Attend the interview at the embassy or consulate.
5. Submit Biometric Information: After the interview, you will need to submit your biometric information.
6. Pay the Application Fee and Wait for Approval: After submitting all the necessary documents and information, you will need to pay the application fee (€110) and wait for the approval of your visa.
7. Get the Entry Visa and Travel to Hungary: Once your visa is approved, you can travel to Hungary. After you arrive, you need to apply for the White Card within a month at the National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing.

The cost of the Hungary Digital Nomad Visa, or the White Card, is as follows:

1. Application Fee: The application fee for the Hungary digital nomad visa is €110.
2. Residence Permit Fee: When obtaining your residence permit, there is an additional fee of €110.
3. Renewal Fee: If you decide to renew the White Card for another year, this can be done within Hungary at a cost of 35,000 forint (approximately €76) if you submit it at one of NDGAP’s client service offices.

Taxes

As a digital nomad in Hungary, your tax situation would depend on the length of your stay:

• If you plan on staying less than 183 days, you do not have to pay taxes.
• If you live there for at least 183 days (half a year), you will be considered a tax resident and therefore, you will be required to pay taxes after the 183rd day of your stay. This includes personal income tax and social contributions.

However, the personal income tax rate can be rather low in Hungary. But when you also take into account social taxes, you could end up paying around 40% in taxes.
